

Dimitra was born in Limassol, Cyprus in 1991. Her artistic interest was prominent from a very young age, though her musical education was delayed until the age of 12, where she began to learn the piano and study music theory. Dimitra discovered her passion for composing during her teens when she began to write short piano pieces, and by the age of 17 she completed the Musical Studies Certificate by the Athens Musical Horizons Conseravtory with Distinction, along with Grade 8 in Pianoforte and Theory of Music by the Trinity College London.
In 2009 Dimitra moved to England to continue her musical studies at Royal Holloway University of London. Dimitra took a specialist route in composition, expanding her compositional skills and style, and taking every opportunity in gaining invaluable experience. She attended a number of composers' seminars with estblished composers and performers, including Melinda Maxwell and David Horne; Elaine Gould (author of Behind Bars); Errollyn Wallen Rolf, Hind and Mark Anthony Turnage. Dimitra's piece In the Devil's Hands for solo violin was performed at the Composer's Concert at the Royal Holloway Picture Gallery.
Dimitra's interest in film music grew stronger at Royal Holloway. After taking a Film Scoring module, she understood the power the music has in enhancing and driving picture. She took specilising modules in film music analysis and for the first time provided a score for a short movie clip as part of an assignment. She soon became proficient with the studio software and gained interest in sound design. Dimitra also was a member of the Film Orchestra of Royal Holloway and provided scores for a selection of film projects for the university Media Department. In 2011 she was awarded with the Advanced Certificate in Pianoforte by the Trinity College London with Distinction. Dimitra graduated from Royal Holloway in 2012 with upper second class honours.
Dimitra has recently graduated from the University of Bristol with a Masters in Music Composition for Film and Television. At Bristol she mastered her acoustic and electronic writing and composing in a variety of styles for different types of media. She collaborated with the Drama Depratment of the University of Bristol and the University of the West of England providing scores for various projects.
